Chink´s Bar and Restaurant serves modern Thai cuisine in a trendy atmosphere. The restaurant appears from the outside to be larger than it actually is, the reason for this is that it is split down the middle with equal space being allocated to the bar area and the restaurant. The first thing I noticed as I walked in was that the chef was Thai, a good initial sign that they know what they are doing when it comes to Thai food, not always the case but in this instance it rang true. We wasted no time and jumped into our mains, I had the red chicken curry, avoiding the hotter green version with sticky rice and my friend had the beef pad thai. Both our dishes were very good, I poured the rice into my bowl to soak up the soupy texture of the sauce and enjoyed its balance of flavours and they got it just right in the heat department too. I barely saw the beef pad thai before it had vanished from the plate opposite me but my dining partner assures me that it was excellent. We spent 20 euros on our main courses, which I felt was steep considering this was a winter menu and the restaurant was quiet but certainly no complaints about the food or the ‘cool’ interior of the restaurant.
