Most towns on the Riviera are served by an urban bus system. In the city centre of Nice the Tramway is the new public transport system. Information on routes and timetables is available from local train stations, bus stations and Tourist Offices.
Nice Tramway
The brand new tramway opened on 24 November 2007. After 4 long years of work the tramway looks fantastic and will provdie a cleaner and more environmentally-friendly city. With public gardens, trees being planted and pedestrian streets developed, the Tramway is transforming Nice into a new city.

Riviera bus Services
There are three main bus networks that serve Nice and the surrounding towns and villages:
Ligne d'Azur is the bus and tram network for Nice which covers all Nice and a bit beyond. The buses are numbered 1-99 (The 98 and 99 being the the express buses that go to Nice airport)
The TAM network has a series of buses or coaches that link the main towns with Nice along the Cote d'Azur and the main ones are the 100, 112, 200, 400, 500 and the new 100 xpress.
The new 100 xpress from Nice to Monaco takes the auroroute which reduces the travel time by up to 30 minutes from the regular 100 Nice - Menton (via Monaco) route.
A single fare for any journey on either the TAM, ligne dazur or Tram network is 1,30 euros. The exception is the express bus 98 or 99 to the airport which is 4 euros. Pay the driver directly, be aware they will not normally except anything larger than a 20 euro note.
The third network is the RCA for express buses that serve towns other than Nice directly from the airport using the motorways. They have their own pricing policy .
